IUHAC Oxford Press”, Paris, France, has published a monograph of the founder and permanent head of the International University of Fundamental Learning, President of IUHAC, Inter-University Higher Academic Council, Paris academician, full professor Jayasekera Santhi.
In the sphere of scientific interests of the author besides purely scientific – includes a significant layer of cultural and humanitarian issues. A graduate of S. A. Gerasimov VGIK, Professor Santhi Jayasekera devotes much time to the study and systematisation of the history of world cinema, in particular the history of Indian national cinema.
The monograph “Traditions and Modernity in Indian Cinema” (the last quarter of the twentieth century – present, Pages 365), published at the end of the current year (2023), presents a broad panorama of both the history of Indian cinema and the author’s view of its current state and development trends.
The reader will undoubtedly be interested in the author’s approach to Indian cinema as a special subject reproduced in the world cinema art, created in India and predominantly by Indian film masters. Both phenomena and concepts are constantly interacting with each other and yet they are not identical.
